Customer Review: Good video and sound quality but somewhat user-unfriendly

This Toshiba DVD player has many more features than I will ever use. Its video and sound quality are excellent for the money.
However, if I am switching out 3 different DVD's I am watching in segments, any self-respecting player should have the capability to recognize each specific DVD, bring up its memory of what frame that DVD was last played to and return to that frame number automatically. This player cannot perform this simple task. As a result, you must write down the frame position number of the DVD when you remove it and manually maneuver arduously with the remote to reach that frame number in order to begin again where you left off. Another problem is that to begin the same DVD where you left off, even if you have not removed it from the drive tray, you must remember to use the "pause/play" button, not the "stop" button. The "stop" button erases the player's memory of where it left off and you must use to remote to fast forward to where you left off, if you do not remember the last frame position. The "pause/play" button holds the frame position, but appears from the hum inside the player to keep the platter spinning. If I do not return to this DVD for several days, this constant spinning does not bode well for this player's life expectancy. Ditto the earnest sounds this player makes as you fast forward or press "next selection" to forward to the last frame position played. If this player had a last frame number memory for each of the last 3 or 5 DVD's played, then "stop" would kill all activity in the player until you pressed "play" again. Shame on Toshiba for not including this simple, easy feature.
