I got this player recently to upgrade from an A2 and am very pleased. One disc that I knew of didn't play on the A2 loaded no problem on the A35. and the online connectivity is better, I couldn't get the updates on the A2 with the same setup and the A35 loaded it no problem so I don't even need to worry about the update discs. The load time for a disc is much faster, the A2 you had to turn it on, go to the bathroom, make a snack for the movie, come back and still wait for the opening screen to come up, with the A35 just wait a few seconds and you're good to go, just do that other stuff during the previews. I am impressed with the 1080p output and the fact that if I wanted to I could hook up the analog 5.1 channel output to my reciever or get uncompressed audio(they say 7.1 but I don't know if they ever got that far) through the HDMI on a new reciever. I still wish they would activate the USB ports for use on downloadable content but I guess that's just a pipe dream.Customer Review: stiffed on the free dvds

Not only is the format dying giving me useless piece of equipment but they also decided to send me some junk dvds instead of the ones I selected in the offer. Not that everyone doesn't love 'Streets of Fire' and 'the Frighteners' but I have no desire to watch them. I feel ripped off. I hope Amazon decides to let us exchange for blu-ray players. Until then I won't be buying electronics from Amazon.Customer Review: Great pic and sound over component connection too!

I don't have a 1080p TV with HDMI but the 1080i pic over component with the sound piped via my receiver over 5.1 analog is truly amazing. I'm now picking up HD titles left and right (including imports) and have yet to be disappointed. The interactive menus while watching the movies is a really cool feature too!
